anonymous

Anonymous (adjective)

1. (of a person) Not identified by name; of unknown name.

2. Having no outstanding, individual, or unusual features; unremarkable or impersonal.

Anonymous, for being just another word in the english language, it seems to give people a power and a personality that they never had without it.

Seriously,

I have never had one mean comment on this blog where the person has signed their names afterward. Every mean comment has been from the same person, "Anonymous." and Anonymous is an asshole.

Okay. I am not stupid. I know that it is probably a bunch of people, but each comment might as well be from the same person. Because each person that leaves an anonymous comment like that has the same intention.. to hurt.. and each person who leaves an anonymous comment is too scared to leave their name. Why is that?

If you wouldn't say something in person.. where it is clear who you are.. why would you ever think about saying it anonymously? The words might be the same, but being anonymous hurts even more.. Leaves the person wondering who it is, or what they did to deserve that.

At least when you say something mean person to person, there is room for discussion, room for improvement, room for understanding.

Being anonymous closes the doors for all those opportunities.. It ruins everything good about conversation. It really is just like sneaking up on someone completely defenceless, punching them in the kidneys, and running away. Ouch.

Words hurt. Anonymous or not, they hurt.

Having the internet and being able to connect with people all around the world in just the tap of a few keys is INCREDIBLE. But it also gives us this power that we can say whatever we want, and have no repercussions for the things we do say. You can see how easy it will be for it to get out of hand.

If you would never say it in person to someone, don't say it online either. Or if you can't resist the urge to comment, leave your name. You owe it to others to do that. Bullying is bullying. Nuff said.

Let us close off this blog post with one of my favourite quotes EVER. It is by Taylor Swift, but that doesn't decredit it in anyway. This quote is brilliant, and I think we should try to remember it the next time (anonymous or not) we think about saying something hurtful.

“Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the only words you'll regret more than the ones left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone.”

- Taylor Swift

  2. I realize i'm staying anonymous but I just want to say you are awesome! some people are so low in their lives that they have to attempt to hurt others to feel better about themselves- its really the lowest kind of low you could be. So when people like that guy up there ^ make comments you should really be feeling good about yourself because you are so above that.

Keep doing what you do and try your best not to be phased by people who don't matter :)
